We are family doctors, rooted in the great family physicians in our Smoky Mountain past. Doctors such as Dr. Robert Thomas, Dr. Benson, and Dr. Roche. We offer a variety of services and treatments where our prime goal is to prevent disease in the first place. This is what we call, Preventive Medicine. If you do have a chronic illness, we want to slow it down to a crawl.
Our second goal is longevity. We want our patients to live long, healthy and productive lives.
Rocky Top Medical Center believes in at the least one annual history and physical examination.
We follow USPSTF (US Preventive Services Task Force). Their mission (and ours) is to improve the quality, safety, efficiency and effectiveness of health care for all Americans.
We think it not unreasonable for our patients to have regular screening blood pressure, lab work as indicated, EKGs, mammograms, and other age appropriate screenings.
We like to partner with the patient and work together on prevention of diseases, and healthy lifestyle choices. If we can motivate the patient to want to be healthier, that can make all the difference.
